Audiologist
Megan K. Larson, Au.D., is the founder and owner of M.K. Larson Audiology, a private audiology practice based in San Luis Obispo, California. A Central Coast native, Dr. Larson is strongly committed to serving the community she calls home.
Originally from Atascadero, Dr. Larson graduated from Atascadero High School before earning her bachelor’s degree and pursuing her doctoral training in audiology. She underwent extensive clinical training across Oregon and California, including internships in pediatric audiology, cochlear implants, vestibular diagnostics and ENT-based audiology, before returning to the Central Coast to complete her full-time clinical residency at Ear Nose & Throat Specialists Inc., accumulating over 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience. She obtained board certification from the American Board of Audiology in 2016, reflecting her commitment to excellence in audiology practice.
Early in her career, Dr. Larson served as Director of Audiology at Ear Nose & Throat Specialists Inc., while also cofounding San Luis Obispo Hearing Center, helping build and manage a thriving audiology practice. She also worked as a clinical audiologist with Central Coast Audiology and performed forensic audiology evaluations for MedEvals of California. In 2019, she founded M.K. Larson Audiology, continuing her mission of providing independent, patient-centered hearing care.
One of the most defining periods of Dr. Larson’s life occurred while completing her doctorate. She welcomed her first child in April 2015 and returned to school just two weeks later to finish her final semester before relocating to California for her residency. This experience required tremendous perseverance and resilience—qualities she utilizes in her clinical practice every day.
Dr. Larson is proud to remain deeply rooted in the Central Coast. Her children attend Old Mission School, and she is an active part of the local community. Outside of audiology, she is an avid athlete and has completed 10 triathlons locally at San Antonio’s Wildflower event, demonstrating the same determination and discipline she brings to her patients’ care.
