Keep Your Hearing Aids Powered Up

Having your hearing aids run out of power is a frustrating feeling that may complicate your trip. Avoid this by packing accordingly—make sure you have enough batteries to last the duration of your trip or bring an adaptor if you’re traveling abroad with rechargeable hearing aids.

Protect Your Devices

Just like you would at home, avoid leaving your hearing aids lying out and keep them in a case when not in use. Along with preventing them from breaking, this will keep them safe from dust or moisture. Also, be sure to pack your cleaning kit to continue with routine maintenance.

Additionally, depending on the climate of where you’re traveling, you may want to bring a dehumidifier for your devices.

Wear Them At Airport Security

Metal detectors or X-ray equipment will not damage your hearing aids, so there’s no need to remove them while going through security if you’re flying. You may want to let your TSA agent know that you are wearing them.

If you do opt to take your hearing aids off while flying, pack them in your carryon luggage to make sure you have access to them if your checked bag gets misrouted.

Take Your Hearing Aids for a Tune-Up

Prior to traveling, it may be beneficial to take your hearing aids for a clean and check appointment. Our audiologists can ensure the devices are clean and working properly so you don’t miss a sound during your holiday travels.
